General
These Terms and Conditions (hereafter “Terms”) form a legal agreement between you (the “Participant”) and SIGMA – Summit for Innovation in Glaucoma Management in Asia, organized by Kugler Publications in collaboration with The University of Hong Kong (the “Organizers”).
By registering for SIGMA 2026 (January 9–11, 2026, Hong Kong) via https://glaucomasummitasia.com, you agree to these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not complete the registration.
Confirmation
Upon completion of your online registration, you will receive a confirmation email and invoice. Confirmation will indicate whether payment has been received.
Payment
- Registration payment will be collected by Kugler Publications (co-organizer of SIGMA).

- Full payment must be made in euros.
- Registrations are only confirmed once payment is received.
- Payment is accepted via credit card and other options offered by our payment provider platform (myPOS) or bank transfer.
- Bank transfer instructions are provided upon request. Any bank charges are the responsibility of the Participant.
- The Organizers accept no liability for damages caused by third-party payment processors.
Invoices
Only digital invoices will be issued, based on the billing details provided during registration. Please ensure accuracy when completing the registration form.
VAT and Taxes
Registration fees are exempt from VAT because the place of supply for admission to events is where the event physically takes place (Hong Kong). VAT not applicable – Article 53, Council Directive 2006/112/EC.
Cancellation of Registration
Cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to info@glaucomasummitasia.com.
- Before November 1, 2025: 30% cancellation fee.
- From November 1 to December 15, 2025: 70% cancellation fee.
- After December 15, 2025: no refunds will be issued.
- No-shows are not eligible for refunds.
Name Changes
A name change may be requested by email to hello@glaucomasummitasia.com until December 15, 2025, subject to an administrative fee of €50. The new Participant accepts all program items and bookings of the original registration.
Visa Invitation Letters
- Participants requiring an invitation letter for visa purposes may request one via info@glaucomasummitasia.com. Letters will only be issued after payment is received.
- The Organizers cannot contact embassies or consulates on behalf of Participants. If a visa application is denied, a refund request may be submitted (with a copy of the official refusal letter) by December 1, 2025. After that date, the standard cancellation policy applies.
Photographs and Videos
By registering, Participants consent to the Organizers photographing and filming during SIGMA 2026. Images and recordings may be used in promotional and scientific materials, online and offline, without compensation.
Data Protection
- Personal data provided during registration will be processed in accordance with the EU GDPR and applicable Hong Kong privacy laws.
- Data will be used for registration, communication about SIGMA, and related events.
- Data will not be shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
- Participants may request access, correction, or deletion of their data by contacting info@glaucomasummitasia.com.
Insurance and Liability Disclaimer
- Participants are advised to arrange adequate travel, health, and accident insurance.
- The Organizers are not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage to property during the event.
COVID-19 Clause
- The Organizers will comply with all public health regulations and guidelines in force in Hong Kong at the time of the event.
- Participants are personally responsible for complying with entry requirements, quarantine measures, vaccination or testing obligations, and any other health-related restrictions imposed by local or international authorities.
- If SIGMA 2026 cannot be held in person due to COVID-19 or other public-health restrictions, the Organizers reserve the right to (i) hold the event virtually, (ii) reschedule the event, or (iii) cancel the event. In such cases, the Organizers will communicate the applicable refund or transfer policy.
- The Organizers accept no liability for costs incurred by Participants due to travel restrictions, quarantine, or other COVID-19–related measures outside of their control.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Dutch law. Any disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, without prejudice to the Organizers’ right to pursue claims under the jurisdiction of the Participant’s domicile.
